Frequently asked questions

How much does SomeWine cost?

SomeWine is available on iOS. We are working on our pricing model, some features will always be available, with optional extras for power users. Details coming soon.

Which platforms is SomeWine available on?

SomeWine is currently available on iOS. Android is on the roadmap.

Do I need an account to use the app?

You can explore some content without an account. To save wines to your cellar, track lessons, and access your journal you will need to create an account.

How does wine scanning work?

Open the app, tap Scan, and point your camera at any wine label or barcode. SomeWine identifies the wine using AI and shows you the full profile within a couple of seconds.

My scan did not work. What can I try?

Make sure the label is well-lit and in focus. Try scanning the barcode instead of the label if the label is damaged or hard to read. If the wine is very obscure it may not yet be in our database, you can add it manually.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings in the app, scroll to the bottom, and tap Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, cellar, and all data associated with your account.

Can I export my cellar data?

We are working on an export feature. In the meantime, contact us at support@somewine.app and we can help you manually.

How are wine lessons generated?

Lessons are written and curated by our team, with some content augmented by AI. Every lesson is reviewed before it appears in the app.

Does SomeWine collect my location?

Only if you grant permission. We use your location to fetch local weather conditions, which improves wine pairing suggestions. We do not store your precise location on our servers.

I found a bug. How do I report it?

Email us at support@somewine.app with a description of what happened, your device model, and iOS version. Screenshots help a lot.
